Earth Day is celebrated annually on 22 April.
The second Earth Day Live digital event will take place today, and the theme for this year is: Restore our Earth.
Several major climate-related events will take place in parallel on 22 April, including:
- the Leaders’ Summit on Climate, hosted by the United States, which will be highlighting the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help vulnerable countries cope with unavoidable climate impacts, as well as the economic benefits of climate action. You can watch it live at 8:00 am EDT here, and simultaneous interpretation will be available in Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish.
