In June 2022, the European Commission published its proposal for a Nature Restoration Law. It is the first continent-wide, comprehensive law of its kind. The proposal combines an overarching restoration objective for the long-term recovery of nature with binding restoration targets for specific habitats and species.
This law has the potential to change the entire landscape of restoration, increasing public investment and unleashing private sector involvement in restoration.
The G20 Global Initiative is organising an international webinar to present the key features of the law and discuss how the law could be a game changer in the restoration domain.
